Better crow photo

So to get into a good crow you should start in yogi squat... and that is a challenge all on it's own.  BUT doing hot yoga a bunch i've accomplished both the yogi squat & CROW!  Which is the thing i'm most proud of... or happy about?  anyhow my dear (very sweet) sis face requested better photos of crow so you could see my feet are not on the black roll of the indo board.

So you got two for the price of one!  In the bottom one i almost ate the floor b/c the camera only has a 10 second timer and i had to quick do it while make the camera stay in the funky position... why am i telling you this... b/c i feel like it. My blog my rules!

Also to note yogi squat helps in derby b/c they make us squat and skate a lot... it's terrible but in the good way.
Crow lesson done. thank you for joining me!

The found camera!

So the last time i remember having the camera was when i last went snowboarding (can you believe i only got to go twice this year... i believe it i've been so busy and lame ask honey face!).  So i looked in all the snowboarding things and even in honey's glove compartment in his car because i remember putting things in there for safe keeping... well i was looking in the wrong snowboarding pants.  First world problems!  I found the secret hiding camera and i wasn't wrong i did have it last snowboarding... just had the wrong pants. DANG.

I wish my burpee challenge was just about these... (sis request)

But below is a photo series of me doing the burpee my challenge is really about (as Sis face requested by the way thank you for suggesting things!)...
So you start with arms over you head...
Then you place your hands down in front of your feet like that...
Then you jump your feet back to end up in a plank...
Then you jump your feet back towards your hands....
Then you pop back up and jump with your arms over your head.

Then you hate everything when your on day 11 and have to do 10 more of them!
Also i'm no trainer so maybe my wording isn't great (or my form) but i tried.  Also thanks for joining me in the camera find / burpee lesson.

quick before midnight!

I still have no idea where my camera is! But once I find it dear sis face I will post things you have suggested!!

I got home from work did my shred, did my burpees, then headed to yoga.  After I flew home took a shower and met my super fun friend at our favorite place... Pocos!  So I've had a full but super fun day.

Tomorrow im going to for real serious search and find my camera or be super sad and face the reality that it may be gone forever. I posted some younger year photos of me & others on the facebook today... its so strange to realize how much time has passed.

Well, this girl is going to bed... its soft & calling my name! Until tomorrow...

Why with the hotness?

Why Hot Yoga?  Am I a glutton? For me a good hot yoga class is a really amazing experience. (forgive me if I have written about this before.)  My 1st class was amazing (held at the Solebury Club).  The class was packed so I thought this should be good, thank goodness I arrived early to get a spot for me and my friend.  It just had the ability to take me out of my head and focus everything on my movements.  So I was hooked. But that class at that location was expensive.

I kept looking for a closer not to overpriced place.  I found one! But it was a total let down especially compared to my 1st one!  A. the place looked totally closed. B. the instructor was 5 minutes late to open the house (yes I said house) that the class was located in. C. it wasn’t even sort of hot, it was like a slightly warm spring day where you contemplate wearing long sleeves with no sweater or sweatshirt over top.  D. the instructor had no flow plus was showing off to another instructor in the class i.e. doing ludicrous moves not at all paying attention to her struggling small class before her. And E. when I went to leave the awful parking lot some d bag creeper in class had parked so close to me (he had plenty of other space trust me) that I couldn’t leave until he did. So I waited out there totally stressing out defeating the purpose of the class (had it actually been a good class) and when he finally pulled out of his parking spot he gave ME dirty looks?!  WTF. So for a while I thought I was going to break up with hot yoga.

I was always looking at groupons and living social deals to see if there were any places near me because that was the only way I was going to give it another try if it was cheap and close. That way if I hated it at least I didn’t spend a bunch of money = sadness.  So I had finally found a cheap groupon for one unlimited month of hot yoga at a place not too far from my house with classes I could actually make. A good rule of thumb for hot yoga classes get there at least 15 minutes early… if it’s a good class because it will be filled up!

So I took my first class at Dana Hot Yoga Studio in Glenside and I was hooked again and 1 class turned into 19 or 20 in 30 days and I liked every instructor there.  Not a bad one in the bunch!  Were some tougher then others yes but they were all great!  So that groupon deal ended and I took a random class here and there until this 30 classes in 30 days challenge came up!  Oh and I need to mention how the place became 100% more amazing when one of my favorite team mates also went there!  So now she and I are doing this challenge and I get the bonus of seeing her!  There are some new instructors and they are all still great.  I think it’s because they all go through the same training and learn a good foundation. Or it’s just because they are awesome… I don’t know. But my greatest yoga feat is crow… as shown in the photo below. And that is why hot yoga!

Things for real to say

Thank you Goth Barbie (aka sis face) for your comment /blog suggestion, as soon as I find my camera that post of magic yarn stuffs will happen!

Today I went from hot yoga to 2.5 hours of derby practice! Between I got dinner from Panera. Once again their cookies are sadness in a wrapper. A few weeks back my sis face and I had gotten a cookie there and it was sadness.  Some where along the way they changed the amount of cook time or something about their cookies. They went from being soft and delightful in the middle to a dry and sad existence.  Why Panera?

While this cookie gate is great for my booty it still makes me sad. Also why did they make the chocolate mint crinkle cookie dissappear? Its all sadness.

Does food represent 75% or more of my life... maybe... what was the first thing I did when I found out my derby is going to san Diego?  Maybe looked up food places... maybe before even knowing I was picked for the game... maybe...

My point... get it together Panera!

Nonsense

I have nonsense to type about!  Like people being unable to just respond to things that you ask them.  I get being busy so I'm not expecting an instant response, but an eventual one would be nice.

I hurt my knee Sunday but today it feels better, it slightly rembers that its allowed to bend. Yay for bending knees!

I cant find my camera... what other nonsense can I bring you on this Tuesday... I got nothing more. Damn blogging is tough.

Sore old lady = me

So getting knocked around by a bunch of guys on skates yesterday took a nice toll on my knee. i woke up this morning and felt like my knee decided it was 80. It was all "what is bending?"  So that's fun... But fear not i will still get my hot yoga, shred, and burpees in... it all just might be super sad in the right leg department. I will NOT be going to practice like i planned.

Right now i am icing it after getting some ice from the work freezer and proceeding to dump the rest of the bag on the floor... it's been that kind of Monday i guess.

In other news I just signed up to play the Easter Bunny for my friend's Easter Egg hunt... I'm 50% excited and 50% terrified. Children are pretty awful BUT i don't have to take any of them home and be responsible for them SO i guess taking photos with them and hoping they consume enormous amounts of candy before being sent home shouldn't be to bad.  Also last time i was in the Easter Bunny costume for a mud run this little kid saw me and was so excited he had to hug me and get his photo taken so i suppose it's worth it for that one or 10 really cute kid.  and again i don't have to be responsible for any of them... i feel this is important to reiterate.

Other things are sore from working out BUT that is the good sore. The "hey good job moving your body after being a stagnant pile of jello for months and months!"  So i'll keep doing my things for 30. (yep only on day 4... you wanna fight about it?)

Happy Monday having see you tomorrow!

What Weekend...

So I think I had a weekend,  I must have missed it though.

Saturday - I woke up at 6:45 am did my shred, then left for my 8am hot yoga class, came back from that made breakfast, showered, did my burpees, and left the house at 11am, picked up my caravan of derby bums (really I love them I swear) got there at 12 and we left for Virginia,  got to game at 4pm, had to quick get ready they were waiting for us, DC traffic is the black hole of drive time, then we skated (WON Woot!), turned back around for home, and I got home at 11:30pmish.

Sunday (today) - got up at 8am, did shred & burpees, left for 9:30am yoga, ran 3 miles, headed to derby warehouse to be a scrimmage body for the boys practice, got home at 4ish, showered, got dinner with the honey head, came home & have been doing wash while generally being a chicken with it's head cut off! It's now 7:45pm and I am finally having a weekend.

This week is gonna be much of the same.

Phew. Catch ya tomorrow!

30 Day Madness!

So i am starting a 30 classes of hot yoga in 30 days challenge today!  Along with that i'm going to do the 30 day Shred & a burpee challenge (by the way whoever named that exercise... why?).  AND i think i may try to blog for 30 days!  Which means things are gonna get real boring around here!  Can i think of 30 days worth of stuff to blog?  Well you can help if you want and leave a comment of something you would like me to talk about!!!  (is that cheating... NO b/c i'm making up the rules! LOL)  SO ask questions or make suggestions and i'll see what i can do... other wise your getting 30 days of whatever random crap comes out of my head!

In other news i recently did a 3 day juice i wouldn't call it cleanse... it was more to reset my stomach so i would stop eating all the things all the time.  So i drank 4 16 to 20 ounce juices a day for 3 days. It wasn't too bad i just started missing the action of chewing food instead of drinking it's liquified remains.  I have a derby team mate that did a juice cleanse for 2 WEEKS!!!  Then followed it with only eating puree raw food for a week then finished by only eating raw solid food. He is a vegetarian!  and i don't know how he lasted 2 weeks. He also thought chewing things was nice!

Derby is busy as is work, life, and the general craziness of the universe.  On the plus side you get 29 more days of this...

Until tomorrow!
